Now that the fall season is officially upon us, it is an important time of transition from one weather pattern to another.

The summer season is a time when the hot sun has a completely different effect on your car than the cold weather and it is important to be mindful of both.

The fall is just the heads up that we need to make sure that we are doing all of the things that are going to get our vehicles ready for the winter weather.

When the roads are cold and icy and the visibility can be reduced, having a vehicle that is in top condition is a great way to ensure that you and your family get from point A to point B safety and without accident.

Here are just a few ways that you can make sure that your vehicle is ready for the winter weather:

  • Check the air pressure in your tires on a regular basis. If the temperature outside gets too cold, it can actually cause the air on your tires to condense, leaving your tires less full than you think they are. This can lead to unsafe conditions for driving and being out on the road.
  • Make sure that the blades on your windshield wipers are in good shape and ready for the cold weather. If the rubber on your wipers is dry or cracked, this could lead to them not fully wiping the water off of the windshield, which will leave you and your family unsafe on the road.
  • Take your car in for a tune-up and have all of the systems and fluids topped off. This should be done at least every 3,000 miles to ensure that your vehicle is running properly and that there aren’t any problems that could lead to disaster on the roadway.
