Spring Time Maintenance For Your Car

Spring Time Maintenance For Your Car

19838300_sSpring is the best time of the year for auto maintenance. After a long, hard winter of commuting in the rain, snow, and ice your car could use some TLC and spring is the ideal time to do it. As the weather warms up and the sun begins to shine, many people are inspired to start planning spring outings and summer road trips. But, these trips can be quickly halted if your car is not in top condition.

Your car is a complex piece of machinery and there are many small systems that need to work together for the whole unit to work. Regular maintenance is the best way to make sure that all parts and pieces are working properly.

To help make sure that your car is ready for the road, use the spring season to have the following maintenance done:

Read the operation manual for your vehicle and follow the recommended service schedule

Have the cooling system flushed and the proper amount of coolant put it. A summer road trip will be quickly ruined if your air conditioner stops working

Have belts, hoses, and clamps checked to make sure nothing is damaged or missing and they are securely tightened

Have the oil and oil filter changed. Have the air and fuel filters checked and changed at the same time

Check all bulbs inside and outside of your car. Replace any bulbs that are not working

Install new wiper blades and fill washer fluid reservoir

When the sun starts peeking through the clouds it is normal to begin thinking about things like camping, road trips, and other outdoor activities. Nothing will put a damper on these plans like your car breaking down. Follow this list of simple maintenance tasks to make sure that your car is road ready and you won’t be left on the side of the road.
